  7. MAIA-MINC is the first ever expert system for automatically writing part
  8. programs for NC/CNC milling and lathe machines. MINC is a feature-based,
  9. manufacturing software package that applies expert system technology to NC tool
  10. path generation and program management. MINC is an exceptionally easy-to-use
  11. integrated CAM system which manages the entire NC/CNC programming process in
  12. one system. The MINC system allows even an inexperienced beginner to produce a
  13. correct part program for complex parts, in the first day of use. Capabilities:
  14. Geometry (easy-to-use, IGES interface); Solid (construct a 3-D body for a part
  15. from a 2-D drawing); Manufacturing Technology (rules-based system combined with
  16. online libraries and tools, enables automatic determination of machining
  17. sequence, tools selection, etc.); Automatic Part Program; Graphic Simulation
  18. (presents the tool path); Part Library management (library of part programs,
  19. fully managed); Flex-Post (generalized post processors tailor the output to fit
  20. any machine tool control combinations). With MINC the user can not only change
  21. technology parameters that the system selects automatically, but can also teach
  22. MINC to make the same choice under similar circumstances in future projects.
